An infographic about the animals

Hello everybody! I am again with a new challenge: CREATING AN INFOGRAPHIC!

For the design of this digital device we work in groups.  Maria Jesus made the groups according to the topic of our CLIL e-project, and Guillermo, Marina, Sara, María, Teresa and I were allocated in the group called “Natural Science: Animals” since all of us had a topic related with that.

We had not had the opportunity to work in groups on this subject before, and I want to say that this was a great idea despite having some difficulties such as the need to reach an agreement, organize our free time to meet … Some of these difficulties were overcome because each group member has a role, in order to make the best of us.

The fact of working in groups allows us to share ideas, see different views and learn from each other. Thanks to also realized the importance of responsibility and respect, which are core values of our life.

After that, we had to think about how to create a visual and engaging Infographic in order to present our collaborative e-project. The main goal of it is to provide our pupils with a visual support for the main task they have to do, in order to ease the understanding to achieve all the learning outcomes arranged.

This infographic is compound of five flash cards representing the five animals groups. Moreover, these images have been assigned as trigger images that lead us to further information with augmented reality.

We used Piktochart to create the infographic surface; it is what we can see with our eyes. You can see amount of information about the five groups of animals and their main characteristics. But, there is something else hidden in our infographic. And you can see our infographic here or :

We used Aurasma to create the reality augmentatios. This programme is quite easy to use although viewers need to follow some basic instructions to enjoy the process. These are the steps you should follow in case you want to see what flash cards hide.

  • Download Aurasma App in your mobile phone.
  • Follow the channel called “maria92collado”.
  • Once you open the Aurasma App from the phone you will have to point to the trigger images with the mobile camera.
  • The App will scan the picture and you you will enjoy the animations.

From our point of view, Piktochart is a great free resource, available online so everybody can use it only by signing up – freely, too. For these reasons, we highly recommend it due to its simplicity and usefulness not only for teachers, but also for students. And Aurasma create immersive brand experiences in augmented reality. We enable a seamlessly branded experience through your apps, and allow your customers to experience interactive brand moments that are both actionable and memorable.

What’s more, we had the chance to participate in a nationwide collaborative project thanks to InfoEduGraphics. We sent our collaborative e-project to infoEDUgrafías in order to publish it in their blog.

They gave us an award for having participated in this fantastic project!
